TASTE TEST: Alternative Baking Company Cookies

Alternative Baking Company Luscious Lemon Poppy Seed Cookie

RATING: YYYY(4 out of 5 hearts!)

Alternative Baking Company cookies are amazing. The flavors are deep, rich and not overly sugary. The consistency is perfect – soft and chewy. It is near impossible to find packaged vegan cookies of this nature. In addition, many that I have tried have a weird taste or leave a strange aftertaste but these do not. I have tried the luscious lemon poppy seed – had little seeds in it! Full lemon flavor, the explosive espresso chip – heaven and the phenomenal pumpkin spice – great pumpkin taste with little cinnamon spice sprinkled in. Though most of the cookies are not wheat free they do offer two of this nature that are made with barley flour – Snickerdoole and Mac the Chip.

I see these cookies at gourmet stores in the city as well as health food stores. They can also be ordered directly off their site.

What are you favorite packaged vegan cookies? Have you tried Alternative Baking Company cookies? What do you think? Post in the comments!

  1. I've seen these and have been wanting to try them! Some day I'll find an excuse to fit them in my eats!
I really want to try Nana Nos as well!

  2. Alternative Baking Company is probably my favorite vegan cookie..the lemon poppy one is probably my favorite..their pumpkin one and mac the chip are really really good!

i tried nana's once and well..never again! haha

i used to love Boston cookies, they were always my favorite until I discovered alternative baking company!

  3. Yea I have also had nana's and they were icky! Thats the bad aftertaste I was talking about.. bleck.

Boston cookies are OK but do have that weird aftertaste too. I wonder what ingredient causes that.

  4. lemon poppy seed is my favorite, then peanut butter, then oatmeal raisin. The pumpkin spice is not popular amongst my vegan vegetarian circle, they are not so good to me either.

  5. The cookies by the Alternative Baking Company are the BEST. So chewy and rich and yet they have No dairy, No eggs, No honey, No hydrogenated oils, No cholesterol, No preservatives, No artificial ingredients and No refined sugars.

They are amazing! They do not taste like all of the others. Their Oatmeal Raisin with cookie Walnuts and their Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip and NOW their newest chewy sumptuous Coconut Macaroon ... are the best cookies I have ever tasted. So sweet and fresh and chewy and rich. I just love them!
